Also, I've passed out some flyers for another scrapbooking Open House here on Saturday...if you are reading this and I didn't get one to you it is only because I threw this one together pretty last minute...so come on by, and bring a friend! (Seems they only way I can get something like this organized is to pass out the flyers first...then I'm left with no choice but to get something organized!) ~grin~
Today has been a beautifully sunny and warm day. We are in various states of bare arms and legs. I'm certain that spring is not here to stay quite yet, but I am thoroughly enjoying this glimpse of it. I even painted my toe nails and put on a toe ring for the first time all winter! Lillian adores playing outside; it ranks right up there with her Daddy, which is saying a lot.
I'm working on washing diapers...after a long winter they really need a good drying in the sun to get rid of stains but I won't have them out in time today. Hope the sun holds out until tomorrow.

This is what went on at my house today. Our friend Bradley is bummed a)that he has nobody to play with and b)that he can't do it at his house anyway as his brother works nights and therefore sleeps during the day. This being spring break he decided it was worth the time it took to break down his drum set and set it up in our basement. Our other friend Terry is a very accomplished musician who also doesn't get enough opportunities to play. Arnel is just sort of a wannabe at this point picking up pointers from his friends. Anyway, they sound great and I'm looking forward to hearing more of them over the coming week. Lillian loves it but I'm having to be careful about letting her spend much time down there...it is awfully loud for little developing ears! We can hear it just fine from upstairs though!

We had unexpected computer "issues" this past week. I am so fortunate in that I have my brother's old laptop held hostage here at my home waiting for him to come visit and reclaim it. So, I have had internet access. However, when I say his old laptop, I do mean old. Our computer is 5 or 6 years old and it is just a youngun in comparison to this. So, you can see where I'm going with this...it just doesn't have the capabilities that I am used to. I mean, come on, Windows 98? ~grin~
However, we received a box of computer parts in the mail today and my dear husband has them all installed, so here I am. We still don't know exactly why a bunch of our major program crashed or if this will fix them when they are reinstalled. But for now at least I can use the computer I am used to. (Ah, see, now the truth comes out. It is not a problem with the laptop; it is a problem with me not liking change.)
So, let's see. Well, Lillian still has no teeth, so you didn't miss anything there. I think I can actually see them under the gum, though, so they are getting close. Since I have last posted she has unplugged the vacuum cleaner a few times, written on the wall in crayon and licked Windex off the sliding glass door. And climbed on lots of things she probably shouldn't have. I have complete faith that God knows exactly what He is doing...but human wisdom would make me think that He should have given me this particular baby when I was younger and had much more energy. She's very big into waving at anyone and everyone these days. When shopping she has decided that she must walk on her own whenever possible...unfortunately she never seems interested in browsing at the same things I am...
Isaac, Gabe and Laura are just plugging away with our daily routine for the most part. We just finished a unit on the Civil War. They really pulled together today and finished tomorrow's school and cleaning chores today so that we could start spring break a day early. Hooray!
Julia is well into her first season of high school soccer and I don't think even she realized how much she missed being on that field. She is sore and tired but just loving it. She gave me a good laugh tonight by telling me that her boyfriend Pablo doesn't like having his picture taken. HA! If he plans on spending any time at all around here he is going to have to get over that one real fast! Julia got a 3.7 GPA for the most recent marking period.
Processing season is pretty much over at the sugar factory so things should ease up a little for Arnel. Me, I'm working on getting the business end of my scrapbooking obsession off the ground. Baby steps.
We didn't have a very cold winter here in MI this year but it seems to be making up for it in length. Still having highs in the 30s, though we do get glimpses of spring every now and then.
I don't know if I've complained on here before or not about the lack of decoration in my house. I have not hung up any artwork in the 2 1/2 years we've lived here. The stuff I have wasn't quite right and I didn't want to spend money on just anything. Well, this week I finally saw a painting at Target that I both like and is the right colors, so I now have my first painting on the wall of my living room...yippee!

You Are Olive Green |
![]() You are the most real of all the green shades. You're always true to yourself. For you, authenticity and honesty are very important... both in others and yourself. You are grounded and secure. It takes a lot to shake you. People see you as dependable, probably the most dependable person they know. |
She is really getting the baby sign stuff...last night when we sat down to dinner she spotted her favorite noodles on the table. She didn't make a peep but man, were those arms flailing wildly about signing for more! Now we are working on teaching her a few more signs.

Lillian has her first real cold. Add that to the teething (because I'm certain she has some in there somewhere!) and she is not a happy camper. One of the things I love about her is that she doesn't put up with things lying down...but it makes it hard when there isn't a whole lot I can do to help her. She doesn't get whiny so much as she gets angry. Good practice for my patience skills.
