Ugh. The morning sickness is very tolerable (though even mild nausea does get tiresome after a time!) but hayfever has kicked into overdrive this week and since I can't take anything for it, it is pretty much kicking my butt. Three of the kids are in pretty bad shape with allergies right now, too. I do have some homeopathic stuff I can take and it helps some. It is an OTC combination remedy so it isn't as precise as it could be, but better than nothing...which is my alternative!

Last night Arnel took me out to Lone Star for a steak dinner which was YUMMY. I think that having one juicy steak a day might help the morning sickness a lot. We should be able to do that, don't you think?

What else...oh, Julia dodged a bullet, temporarily. We had her pre-op consultation for getting her wisdom teeth out. All went well until we went over the financial end of it! It is going to have to wait until after the first of the year. Oh! And I don't know if I mentioned that in addition to being on yearbook staff next year (I think I shared before about how the faculty advisor kept bugging her to join!) she is on Student Council. I didn't grasp what all this meant until she starts getting phone calls for meetings to take place this summer for these...the girl has gone big time on us, lol!

And pickles. Pickles and steak sound lovely these days. And I cried over a scrapbooking layout I saw in a book last night. Granted, it was about 9/11...but I'm pretty sure I didn't even cry when it actually happened, I am not a "cry-y" person by nature.

So anyway, today has been weird. Being the youngest (so far) of five children, Lillian gets tons of attention, but very little undivided, focused attention. Well there is a friend of ours from church, a mom of two pre-teen kids, who has the moments of missing the baby stage. When we are together she always spends some one-on-one time with Lil...they go exploring on walks, whatever Lillian wants to do basically. Lillian love this, thrives on the attention from the uber-sweet "Mama
Trina." Last week at church she saw Trina sitting a couple rows ahead of us, got down and just marched herself right up to sit with her! I'm telling you...when Trina talks to Lillian, Lil's face looks like a kid on Santa's lap or something; I can practically hear the "Hallelujah" chorus.

So last night, Trina and Arnel were at this meeting and Trina asked if Lillian could come over and play today! She came and got her after her nap and Lil was gone with her about four hours. I am thrilled for her, don't get me wrong, but it was a little sad for me simply because I missed my little girl! (Had to occupy myself by spending most of the time at Target.)

You would think I'd never been pregnant before but this has just been hilarious to me! I am having such a stereotypical pregnancy! I have 5 kids but have been pregnant 4 times in addition to them...2 I lost within a week of learning I was pregnant, but the other two were at 10 weeks and 14 weeks so I went through the whole first trimester "stuff" anyway. But with the possible exception of my very first, this is the most stereotypical. Regular 'ol morning sickness...usually worse in the morning (imagine that!) and better if I keep food in my stomach. Emotionally hormonal (short-tempered with the kids...yesterday Gabe told me "If it is pregnancy making you do that, don't get pregnant again." (!) and today I teared up reading a semi-sweet line in a book.) Sore and darkening nipples. My complexion is better. Why it took this many years to have this experience I don't know, but after the way I've felt with the others, I'll take it!

Well, I came to a realization today that I probably should have a long time ago.

You know how when you are pregnant you are typically way more tired than normal? I wasn't; I figured it was just because with five kids including a very active two-year-old that I was so perpetually tired that being pregnant didn't make much of a difference! And the last couple of days I've oddly had much more energy than normal! I've got the living room organized, did a bunch of errands today, got organized for our church youth group summer kick-off event tomorrow, tidied around the house a bit, organized my scrap area...and I could do more, too!

So tonight I mentioned to Arnel that I was about done weaning off my Paxil (I take an extremely low dose and it is supposed to be pretty okay for pregnancy but my issues are largely hormone-related so pregnancy seems to make them better, and why take it if you don't need it?) He asked how I was feeling. It was then that the light bulb went off. I think it was the Paxil that has been making me so exhausted all this time! When I was on a half-dose I felt about the same and then when I was off completely...BOOM! It was right about then that I got the burst of energy. Does that seem like a coincidence to you? Not me!

Pregnancy seems to be going very well. I'm the least sick I've ever been. Just enough morning sickness to feel pregnant but none of the weird digestive-metabolic garbage I've usually had. It makes a world of difference! It is still so very early and I do have quite a history of pregnancy loss but I'm trying hard to take it one day at a time, praying a lot and putting it in God's hands.

Sorry for anyone who was waiting, I almost forgot to share here, but I did get the official results that my thyroid biopsy was negative!

Your Celebrity Sisters Are Mary-Kate and Ashley

Funky, eccentric, and offbeat
You're not a good girl or a bad girl, just a weird girl

Yeah, maybe my much younger sisters....
Well, the biopsy was a piece of cake and preliminary report from one of the nurses? "There's nothin' there." Of course, we have to wait for the official word but the doc doing the procedure says that over 99% of the time they are negative. The most painful part now is where the drew the pre-op blood! I must say that I counted something like 11 or 12 staff members that I had contact with while at the hospital and they were every one of them just fantastic! Still...glad it is over with. I followed doctor's orders and took it easy yesterday but today the mountain of laundry calls my name.
